I began training Yang style tai chi in September 1989 in Sydney, Australia with Sifu  Peter Yu.  I was never able to find a Yag instructor to equal him so I turned to Wu style  when      I returned to Michigan. I began studying Wu style on January 10, 1996 in Ann Arbor  with Sifu Michael Ashmore. I feel extremely fortunate to have been instructed by Sifu Mike, Sifu Sandy Zenisek, Sifu Genie parker, and Sifu John Marchewitz, in addition to Sifu Stephen Britt and Sigung Eddie Wu. It has been very enlightening to receive the same teachings from the perspective of each individual instructor, both masculine and feminine. But in the end, the form is the form. And it belongs to each one of us.
