Lau Siew San

I had from young been interested in martial arts and had taken judo as an extra cirriculum activity in school. For a long time I had wanted to learn taichi but it was not easy to find an instructor or association that teaches the real art .

It was only in 2003 that my brother, who is also very keen on taichi, heard that an Aw (Tuck Seng) Sifu was teaching the Wu Style Tai Chi at the Singapore Jian Chuan Tai Chi Chuan Physical Culture Association. We both enrolled for the class. The initial first year's training was tough as we seemed to be doing a lot of repeated exercises . However , I knew that there is much more to it if only I perserve . To me , taichi is something that is interesting and it is a healthy activity that I know I can carry on doing to a ripe ol age.

When Aw Sifu's health declined in 2003 , it was really fortunate that Saw Phaik Hwa and Goon Ark Leau took over his class and it was under these two instructors' guidance that I gained a greater insight into the beauty and mystique of taichi . On 6 December 2006 , I was honoured to have the opportunity to become a disciple of Grand Master Eddie Wu Kwong Yu.
