I met Sifu Eddie Wu at Toronto back in 1990.  It was a visit to the Academy with a friend.  During that visit, Sifu explained Wu’s Style Taichi in plain language and his brief demonstration made the visit very interesting.  Out of curiosity, I joined a class with my friend and started my journey to learn Wu’s Style Taichi.

Sifu Eddie made the ancient martial art of Taichi accessible to all levels of learners.  It could be the most difficult form of art, after all.  Yet, with Sifu Eddie’s guidance, there was always a way to practice and to improve the forms.  There was always an answer to any question asked in the class.  It was a terrific learning experience with such a knowledgeable, approachable and open-minded teacher.  Unfortunately, I could not continue my learning shortly after finishing the 108 standard forms.

I was thrilled to know Sifu was back to Hong Kong teaching in 2005 and became the Gatekeeper. My journey resumed, as a beginner again, as soon as I could in 2006.  The teaching of the standard forms were even more systematic and refined over the years.  The friendly atmosphere of the Academy made the learning interactive and full of fun.

Now, I am honoured and thankful to be accepted as a disciple of Sifu Eddie Wu and will make my best effort to perfect my practice of Wu’s Style Taichi and to carry it to the next generation, to make this great tradition continues.

Special thanks to Sifu Cynthia Wu and all the disciples who have enlightened and encouraged my journey to learn Wu’s Style Taichi.
