INTERNATIONAL WU STYLE TAI CHI CHUAN FEDERATION

Low Siew Mei

I do hope that Taiji will help me to improve my health and co-ordination and thus, reduce the risks of falling sick and tumbling down the stairs as I age. Of course, the martial arts aspect would be a big ‘plus’, if I ever get to master some useful self- defense steps. Maybe, one fine day, I would be able to stay put at the spot and tell my attacker, ‘Come on, one step nearer and I’ll have your arms and legs broken in no time.’ For now, I will go for ‘Run for your life’.

It ‘s been three years since I first joined the Wu style Taiji classes, something which I do not take lightly as it unusual for me to continue with the same activity for more than a year. Credit certainly goes to the dedicated instructors that we have in Singapore (Current instructors - Goon, Saw and Liu). They have managed to sustain my interest in Taiji with their dedication and enthusiasm, while earning my respect for them. Without much knowledge about the past activities of the association in Singapore, I believe the current batch of instructors are changing the face of the association in Singapore. Let’s hope that the Wu style Taiji will continue to thrive for the years to come.

Finally, I would like to thank Sifu for making the effort to come to Singapore all the way from Toronto/Hong Kong to train us. Really do appreciate it.
