Born in Saint John, NB, in 1972, Dan came to Fredericton to complete his studies in Computer Science, and never left. Co-founding a technology startup that ran for several years, Dan then moved on to several different firms, most recently working as an IT consultant. Dan discovered Wu style tai chi chuan entirely by accident, while looking for something to become more fit and active after years of sitting in a chair. After a long and challenging start, it's become an integral part of his life, and provides a wonderful physical balance to the purely mental activity of working in technology and software development. Dan has studied all variants of the hand and weapons forms for more than ten years under the guidance of Sifu Martin Kennedy, and looks forward to continuing his practice for years to come. |
