Robert Dixon

I started at the Wu Style Club in Toronto in 1978, taught there in the 90's, then taught on my own in the Pacific NW after that. During those years I competed in, and refereed at, Tournaments across North America, and also had the pleasure of visiting our sister clubs in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Fredericton, and Shanghai.

I have been practicing Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan for my entire adult life. It grabbed me the moment I first entered the Parliament Street club all those years ago, and has never quite let me go. With age and experience, I have come to more fully appreciate the efforts of those who have kept our art alive. Sifu (Wu Kwan Yu) made sure that the club was open to all. He used to get mad at me if he found out that I wasn't coming to class because I didn't have the money, and insisted I come anyway. It goes without saying that without him there would be no Wu Style as we know it in North America today.

Martin Kennedy and David Chiu were very important early influences on me as teachers in the club. Jonathan Krehm has been a great friend, mentor, and contributor to the club, but there are others, too numerous to name, that also contributed to my understanding and enjoyment of this great art.

I am now living in, and teaching Wu Style Tai chi Chuan in Minnesota.
